DESCRIPTION
Steine connects traditional wood-burning methods with a clean and essential form. In the middle it stands the hand cutted stone with his archaic significance, that gives to the piece a sculptural appeareance.
His pieces present a minimalist and geometric character with a search for perfection and harmony of design, playing with straight lines that draw the object in three-dimensional form. Geometry has always been an important component in his work.
His work crosses the border between art and design with the ideation of objects and other forms of artistic expression that involves photography and conceptual installations. His latest works are more experimental mixing wood – his primary research element – with different materials.
