DESCRIPTION
This object is a part of a collection of jewellery and objects called Beyond the skin, iplaying with body image and identity by using convex mirrors and ornamentation to alter the shape of the body being mirrored in its surface. Through the reflections created the body of the viewer takes new forms and becomes a part of the object.

Sofia Eriksson is a Stockholm based artist. After several years as a jeweller her work is now focused on objects and sculpture, often using silversmithing techniques and themes connected to the field of jewellery. In her work a sensitivity for materials and finding ways to use their qualities and connotations as part of the concept are central.
